Lauren and David traveled from their current home in St. Louis, Mo., to tie the knot in Nashville with a contemporary cool wedding at The Bell Tower.
This fun-loving couple met in school and David later surprised Lauren with an intimate proposal in their home. Their big day was natural, contemporary and effortlessly cool with fun personal touches incorporated throughout.
Starting with a spiritual ceremony, Forget Me Not Designs' wood cross was the perfect backdrop as the couple exchanged vows. While chic mahogany chiavari chairs added modern style.
When guests entered, a sweet and sentimental remembrance table honored extra-special loved ones. "Dave and I wanted to honor our relatives that had passed by displaying their wedding photos at the event," Lauren told us.
As soon as they made it official, cocktail hour began on the patio. Candied bacon and classic tomato bruschetta made the rounds, tempting guests with what was to come.
Inside the main space, modern gold geometric lanterns lined the stairs and string lights were strung from the beams. Rustic touches including bundles of greenery and wooden table numbers sat atop each table for a natural vibe.
After a cocktail and a slice of candied bacon (or five), guests took their seats for dinner. They dined on delectable entrees including maple soy hangar steak with grilled asparagus and rosemary roasted fingerling potatoes, and lemon and herb baked chicken with sautéed haricots verts and garlic parmesan smashed new potatoes. Afterward, Lauren and David took a twirl around the dance floor as guests looked on to a song that is close to their hearts. "We chose 'Count On Me' by Needtobreathe," Lauren told us. "We wanted a song that represented our relationship with each other and our strong faith."
As the evening came to a close, guests each grabbed a fun favor or two to take home before continuing the party downtown. "We gave our guests temporary tattoos at a tattoo station," Lauren told us. "We also had individual bags of chips, popcorn, and pretzels for people to snack on before heading out to Broadway."
And our lovely couple's most memorable moment of the day? "Our secret last dance," Lauren told us. "While all our guests were outside getting ready for our send-off, the DJ played 'Dancing in the Moonlight.' We had the whole dance floor to ourselves to soak in the whole day before exiting the venue." Swoon city!
