Diana and Travis celebrated their marriage with a traditional ceremony and sweet reception at The Bell Tower.
They first met while attending Vanderbilt University and knew almost right away that they had met their forever!
Travis surprised Diana with an intimate proposal at the Union Station Hotel on their third anniversary in February of 2019. Since then, they’ve learned that not even wedding planning during a global pandemic could come between them.
When it came to the big day, incorporating Diana’s Iranian culture was very important to her, and they wanted to make sure it was a stress-free environment with lots of fun and dancing! Looking back, we think their wishes came true.
Diana stunned in a classic strapless ball gown and subtle tiara, while her bridesmaids wore matching blue dresses and Travis rocked a classic black suit and black bowtie to stand out from his groomsmen, who wore blue bowties.
The wedding began with Diana’s mom conducting a Persian poetry reading as family and friends held a canopy over their heads while dusting them with sugar, a Persian tradition. And afterwards, they transitioned into a traditional American ceremony and shared their vows.
Once they were pronounced the new Mr. and Mrs., guests made their way to the patio for a cocktail hour of champagne and passed appetizers! They had bacon-wrapped scallops, classic tomato bruschetta, hot chicken bites, Key West crab cakes, mini chicken and waffles, and lump crab stuffed mushrooms. Yum!
The reception was set in the main space with white and blue linens, dainty centerpieces, and cascading string lights. As guests found their seats, they prepared for a plated dinner service presented by Infinity staff.
Dinner consisted of bourbon glazed salmon with parmesan risotto and roasted brussels sprouts, chicken piccata with roasted brussels sprouts and rosemary roasted fingerling potatoes, and a vegan portobello carpaccio.
After dinner, Diana and Travis shared their first dance to “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton and headed downtown to end the night.
