1. Nostalgic Photography Styles
Like most wedding details, photography styles are influenced by trends! We can all remember the sepia filtered photos and the wave of photo framing with bouquets, right?
So what’s trending now? All natural, candid styles that make you feel the joy of the day. Don’t get us wrong, it’s good to have the perfectly placed wedding party photo and official family portraits, but there’s a new sense of freedom in today’s wedding photography that we can’t get enough of. Not to mention the resurgence of film photography and blurry editorial techniques that bring back a nostalgic feel.
So capturing the full essence of a wedding day exactly how everyone remembers is at the top of our list for wedding predictions in the new year.

2. Alternative Bridal Wear
Style is unique to every bride, and whether you’re a trendsetter, a little country club, or something in between, rest assured you’ll make the whole place shimmer. But there are definitely a few trends we can’t help but make note of!
In 2023, you can expect to see a lot more ball gowns, off-the-shoulder gowns with sleeves, and A-line dresses with high slits. It’s a tasteful touch and, depending on how the dress moves, it can create a new look. Not only will the cuts be different, but the lengths and material will be as well.
At Infinity, we love a dress change, and in 2023, reception dresses aren’t going anywhere! Brides will continue to rock mini dresses for the reception for that extra fun showstopper.
As far as accessories, trust us when we say it’s only the beginning for the return of a bridal glove! Full coverage, embroidered, fingerless, lace, above the elbow… you name it. Custom embroidery will also be making a major impact, whether it’s on gloves, your dress, or a statement veil.

3. Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses
Not only will the bride be stepping out in new trends but her best gals, too! Bridesmaids are taking the “mix-and-match” look to a whole new level with completely different colors, dress styles, and patterns.
It’s safe to say this will majorly break tradition, but we love to see it. Having your wedding party in something they feel comfortable and stylish in will have them feeling even more excited for your big day.

4. Captured Moments
We know we just listed a few ways photography styles are changing, but hear us out. What better way to capture the true feeling of your wedding day than by your closest friends and family?
Many couples have begun to include a Polaroid guest book for guests to snap a pic, write a sweet note, and place it in a book— and we think this is only the beginning. Polaroids will start to become replacements for table place cards and used in other creative ways.
And not only are Polaroids making a comeback, but disposable cameras as well. Couples have brought back the fun of placing disposable cameras on reception tables or around the wedding venue for guests to use as the night goes on.

5. Audio Guest Books
This trend is on fire, and we only expect it to keep burning!
Guest books have now turned into actual phone books. Having written messages by your loved ones will always be near and dear, but now you can have their recorded voices, too. Phone books and record players are a stylish way to forever capture a meaningful message with personality and a familiar tone that automatically saves for you to play it back whenever you desire.

6. Grand Floral Arrangements
The bigger the better with this trend! Arrangements at the altar, on the reception tables, held by the bride, or a part of a floating installation— whatever you do with your florals, make a statement.
Sarah and Joseph’s cascading florals along The Bridge Building beams paired with grand centerpieces for the tables created an eye-catching design throughout their wedding reception. For more floral design trends like this, check out our blog on unique florals to get inspired.

7. Fun Foods
In 2023, we predict you’ll see a lot more take-out and personalized foods. The food trends are always evolving because it’s one of the most talked about details from any event.
Whether it’s on a whim or planned ahead of time, ordering a late night pizza from your favorite local spot, Jimmy John's sandwiches or the whole McDonald’s menu, having a fun snack after a night of drinks and dancing will be top notch.
And if you want to get creative with your served items, consider a build-your-own station for popcorn, pretzels, ice cream, s'mores— whatever suits your taste.

8. Extra Entertainment
We don’t just mean extra as in additional, no, we mean extra as in extravagant! Weddings are about having fun with your loved ones, so go all out on what fits your personality.
Sarah and Patrick hired a live painter that was visible to guests to paint their first dance at The Bell Tower. Not only will this be a lasting memory captured by a talented artist for the couple, but guests got to enjoy seeing the process as well.

9. Color
Classic weddings with black and white color palettes will be huge in 2023, but so will some color!
First things first: Rust. Based on millions of Pinterest searches, hues of burnt orange, copper, terracotta, and rust will be everywhere. We love seeing our couples use a variety of colors like Anna Caroline did with her bridesmaids dresses to add texture and dimension.
Next up, from fashion to interior design and weddings, think pink! With Barbiecore on the rise, we weren’t surprised when Pantone announced magenta as their color of the year. Varying shades of pink will be used throughout next year's events, including lounge furniture, florals, bridesmaids dresses, taper candles, and more.

10. Get Comfy
Last but not least, we’re getting real comfortable in 2023 — in style, of course. More and more couples are incorporating lounge areas into their wedding ceremony and reception!
Mixed seating for your VIPs is a fun way to incorporate sofas or loveseats into your ceremony. Add them around the dance floor for those guests that just want to sit back and enjoy or anyone who needs to get off their dancing feet. And you can never go wrong with placing them near a bar for a relaxing spot to mingle during the cocktail hour.
