Sammy and Will celebrated their nuptials with a leap day wedding at The Bridge Building Event Spaces.
With the help from some mutual friends, this adventurous couple first found each other while attending Bonnaroo back in 2013. They quickly hit it off and had a long-distance relationship for two and a half years before Samantha completed grad school and moved to Nashville.
In 2019, on Will's birthday, he suggested a nice walk across the Pedestrian Bridge and I bet you can guess what happened next!
You guessed, it Will proposed. "I dropped the ring and freaked out, and luckily it did not fall in the Cumberland River," Samantha told us. The pair ended the perfect day with a blissful walk home following a fun scooter ride.
For the big day, Samantha was dressed in a beautiful beaded gown from LVD Bridal, a veil made by her mom and a special pair of kicks. Samantha is known for her Chacos, so her friends had a custom pair made for her wedding.
Their day began with an emotional ceremony officiated by Samantha's brother-in-law. "He had written and personalized the speech but had kept it a secret, so we were hearing it for the first time along with everyone else," Samantha said. "His goal was to make people cry, and he killed it." Needless to say, the ceremony was easily one of the most memorable moments of the day.
After exchanging vows, guests snacked on hors d'oeuvres while the Cumberland space was flipped for the reception. Bites included avocado toast, hot chicken biscuits, mini pulled pork biscuit sliders, and more.
A dinner buffet followed with honey balsamic chicken, four cheese macaroni, grilled asparagus, and garlic parmesan smashed potatoes. Yum!
After a choreographed dance routine and some sweet treats, Samantha surprised Will with a pickle platter. "The crowd started a resounding chant of "PICKLES! PICKLES! PICKLES," Samantha told us. Then everyone joined in on pickle juice shots. A memory last will last a lifetime.
The fun evening ended with a sparkler send-off on the Pedestrian Bridge. Scroll on for all the details of Samantha and Will's leap day wedding.
