EVENT DIRECTOR
Kalyn Newport was born and raised in a small town in East Tennessee. She moved to Knoxville to attend college and study studio art and art history, but after a year as an event intern with the University of Tennessee, she knew she wanted to switch majors and take her passion for the arts and apply it to the event industry. She graduated from UTK with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies.
During her time in Knoxville, she gained experience in the event industry working at UTK in the Department of Conferences as a conference specialist. It was here that she discovered her love for planning events of all types and sizes, like Destination Imagination’s Global Finals, Fuel Up to Play 60, and CHIC Conferences with her event team.
In her spare time, Kalyn enjoys painting, attending all the concerts Nashville has to offer, traveling with friends, and cheering on the University of Tennessee Volunteers!
