Meg and Tommy had a classic wedding ceremony at St. George’s Episcopal Church, followed by a fun-filled reception at The Bell Tower.
This lovely pair met when they were 18 at the University of Tennessee and have been together ever since. Both originally from Tennessee, Meg and Tommy decided to make a big move after graduation— to Chicago!
Tommy decided to pop the question when they were back in Knoxville visiting family. Before a planned dinner at Calhoun’s, they took a walk along the river and Tommy got down on one knee. He later surprised Meg with a big party downtown.
Knowing they would need enough room for all of their family and friends close to home, The Bell Tower was the perfect spot for their reception.
On April 10th, their wedding day finally arrived. The day began with the sweetest ceremony at St. George’s Episcopal Church. Meg wore a gorgeous strapless gown by Anne Barge, paired with a long veil with lace trim and a romantic rose bouquet. Tommy wore a classic black tux with a white rose boutonniere.
Once the ceremony was complete, guests made their way to The Bell Tower for a night full of fun, food, and dancing. When they arrived, pepper jelly pimento cheese bruschetta, bacon wrapped dates, and hot chicken sliders were up for grabs.
“After the long year we had with not seeing loved ones due to COVID, it was overwhelmingly beautiful seeing everyone as we walked in. We will always remember this moment,” Meg explained to us.
Following cocktail hour, guests feasted on delectable dinner stations and then took to the dance floor. Meg and Tommy shared their first dance to “She’s in Love With the Boy” by Trisha Yearwood. Meg told us, “We are not the slow dance type. We are always dancing to upbeat fun songs, so we thought it was perfect!” And we can’t disagree!
