Lizzy and Stefan couldn’t wait to celebrate their love surrounded by family and friends. These two said "I do" with a modern wedding at The Bridge Building filled with so much fun… and a donkey!
The pair first met in Atlanta, Georgia, on a dating site called Coffee Meets Bagel. Stefan later proposed on the back porch of their first home together after having dinner at the same place they had their first date, Agave.
Lizzy’s late father was the project engineer for the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, so she knew the Bridge Building was the perfect place to marry Stefan and honor her father.
When it came to planning, the pair wanted to focus on the details of the ceremony and dancing the night away with their guests.
The wedding party prepared for the day in the Bridge Building’s lounge rooms before heading out under the pedestrian bridge for group photos.
Lizzy and Stefan shared a sweet first look on the rooftop and enjoyed some quiet time together before all of the festivities began.
Once the vows were exchanged, guests headed out to the riverfront to enjoy a cocktail hour with a special guest appearance by Black Burro Events’ beer burro, which was festively dressed in vibrant paper flowers and a little sombrero.
Lizzy and Stefan originally planned to celebrate their nuptials in Mexico, but because of the rise in COVID-19 cases, those plans changed. So Lizzy decided a festive beer burro was the perfect way to surprise Stefan and bring a little bit of Mexico to their hometown wedding. And we couldn’t agree more!
The Cumberland space was set with black and white linens, gold lanterns, greenery runners, and acrylic table numbers. As guests found their seats, a stationed dinner was set, consisting of gourmet mac and cheese, build-your-own sliders, and fresh salads.
After toasts were made and plates were cleaned, everyone went up to the rooftop to share in Lizzy and Stefan’s first dance to “Beyond” by Leon Bridges, followed by the traditional cake cutting!
Guests ended the evening by grabbing a custom koozie and pair of socks provided by Stefan’s company, Sock Fancy, and sent the couple on their way.
