OUR TOP 5 GALENTINE'S DAY PARTY TIPS
After what seemed like the longest January ever, we couldn't be happier that February has finally arrived. Love is in the air, and it's safe to say that we are ready to pop the champagne, pretend that chocolate is a superfood (the dark stuff is healthy, right?) and celebrate Galentine's Day with our closest gal pals.
With February 13th right around the corner, we are sharing our top five Galentine's Day party tips to help you throw the perfect soiree for the occasion. We all know that February 14th is reserved for romance, but Galentine's Day is about celebrating your girls, and all things love and friendship.
1. Send pretty invitations.
Emojis and inside jokes are fun inside the group chat, but why not send pretty paper goods to your gals to make your party feel a little more official? Team up with a local calligrapher or designer like White Ink Calligraphy and Darby Cards to create sweet invitations that won't break the bank. If you're worried about your invitations getting lost in transit, websites such as Paperless Post will get the job done beautifully too.
2. Decorate.
Have fun with your decor! This is one of the rare occasions when over-the-top is not only possible, but encouraged. No Valentine's party is complete without flowers, so don't forget to pick up your favorite. Pinterest also has a variety of great DIY decor ideas that are sure to make your party sparkle on a budget. Enlist one or two of your girls to help you set-up beforehand to ensure you have plenty of time to get yourself ready too.
3. Throw your diet out the window!
If there was ever a day to cheat on your diet, this would be it. Have plenty of sweet treats and savory bites available for optimal snacking! Don't forget to ask your girls about their dietary restrictions.
4. Decide on a signature beverage.
Mixing too many cocktails never ends well, and why not have your libations be a part of your decor? Select a base alcohol that pairs well with your party. Brunching? Mimosas with a strawberry garnish are in order! Doing dinner? We love Rosé with a pink rock candy stick to keep with the theme!
Bonus tip: For any gal pals who are expecting or that would prefer not to drink, having an array of juices and fruits is a great way for them to participate while still keeping your spread colorful and fun.
5. Plan an activity or two.
Getting all of your girlfriends together in one place is an activity within itself. However, if you want to go the extra mile, plan a fun activity! Fashion lovers? Plan a boutique crawl after brunch. Beauty lovers? Try a product pot-luck where everyone brings their favorite beauty product. Craft lovers? Try a card making station while you watch Bridesmaids. DIY Valentine's are still the best Valentine's!
So here's to you and your girls. Wishing everyone a happy and fun-filled Galentine's!
