With a little help from our friendors, Demetria and John made it official with a moody modern wedding on a perfect summer day at The Bridge Building.
This sweet couple met through their athletic endeavors while attending the University of Georgia. And the proposal was just as strong!
"[John] took me hiking at Talulah falls, one of my favorite active things to do, and proposed next to a waterfall!" Demetria told us. Groom goals!
When the time came to find a venue for the big day, the process was smooth as silk. "We both love the city of Nashville and knew we wanted a fun wedding destination," Demetria told us. "We came to Nashville once, looked at The Bridge Building and immediately knew we wanted to get married there."
And we're so happy they did! Starting with an intimate first look on the riverfront, the sun was shining and emotions ran high as Demetria just couldn't wait to see her beau.
Following, guests took their seats for a heartfelt ceremony on The Bridge Building's rooftop. Modern and deliciously moody, a minimal design was carried out through every moment of the day, starting with LMA Designs' "Archie" — a stylish wood geometric arch adorned with greenery — placed at the altar. Demetria was radiant and glowing as she walked down the aisle with her mom by her side — her most memorable moment of the day.
"I wanted to enjoy every moment and be stress-free," Demetria told us. "Having Sarah guide my guests and wedding party all day and take the stress of that off my shoulders allowed me to relax and enjoy my wedding day."
Afterward, cocktail hour began downstairs in the main patio tent, with the newlyweds also in attendance! As they greeted their guests, glasses of pinot noir and champagne were passed and clinked. The couple also opted for two fun signature cocktails, a Mexican Mule made with tequila for the bride and a Kentucky Mule made with bourbon for the groom. Yum!
More than ready for food, guests then made their way inside the Cumberland space for a plated dinner where arugula salads were already waiting. Paired with chic black seating, white linens and black napkins created a classic elegant vibe. Towering black stands filled with greenery and subtle white blooms lined the head table for whimsical drama.
Later, the couple danced to "How Would You Feel" by Ed Sheeran — a song that they feel best describes their life together. To wrap up, guests enjoyed a donut or two from a donut tower with custom to-go bags and took home bags of Hershey's Kisses from the Mr. and Mrs.
