The holiday season is finally here! Looking for a good way to get into the spirit of things? Join us in looking back on Andi and Cody’s winter wedding filled with soft blue hues.
These two met at Florida State University back in October of 2013 through a mutual friend. They felt as though there was an “instant connection,” and after six months of hanging out at Greek life events and going on movie dates, the pair became official.
Later, during the winter solstice of 2018, Cody popped the question near a lake in the New Mexican desert. Andi described the moment as magical and completely unexpected!
When it came time to plan their wedding, choosing the venue was easy. “The Bell Tower had our ideal combination of feeling classic and formal while also being a fun, modern space,” Andi said.
Andi and Cody dreamed up a special and personalized day that really reflected who they are as a couple. They put a lot of thought into making their wedding playlist, chose their favorite foods for the menu, created a custom neon sign that served as a great photo backdrop, and crafted their own specialty cocktails to ensure it was an all-around celebration of who they are.
Before the couple said I do, they participated in a foot-washing ceremony to symbolize their humbling service to one another physically, emotionally, and mentally as they take on their future together. Safe to say there wasn’t a dry eye in sight!
Following the sweet ceremony and a festive cocktail hour on the patio, the guests found their names on a painted lucite seating chart and made their way to the main event space. Everyone warmed up during the reception with a savory buffet (which included some Nashville hot chicken, of course), listened to a couple of sweet toasts, and then spent the rest of the night celebrating.
For their first dance, Andi surprised Cody with something extra special—a live performance from one of their favorite Nashville bands, Freddy & Francine!
A few weeks later, Andi and Cody told us that “the most memorable moments of the wedding day [were] sitting together at the head table during dinner and looking around at all of our favorite people who had come to celebrate with us, as well as taking in all of the little details we had planned out for the last 13 months. The lighting, the decor, the custom macarons, the cake—it had all come together, and we could finally enjoy and experience the celebration.”
And how did this couple leave their fun and stylish winter blue wedding in Nashville? On the Honky Tonk Party Bus, of course!
