Late last summer, Julia + Ivan had a simple, classic wedding at The Bell Tower with sunset-inspired florals and a petal send-off.
Julia, a Nashville native, and Ivan, from Birmingham, began their relationship during their time at Samford University. Ivan later surprised Julia with a sweet proposal as they worked on home improvements one seemingly ordinary morning. Julia told us that she was counting tiles when she realized what was happening!
When it came to planning the big day, they wanted a simple and classic wedding with room for dancing and spending time with their loved ones.
The couple could hardly wait to say their “I do’s.” On September 26, Julia wore a lace capped-sleeve dress with a simple updo. She held a bouquet of peach and orange florals as she walked the aisle to her now husband, Ivan, who was dressed in a sleek navy suit with a gray tie.
For the ceremony, which was officiated by Ivan’s uncle, Nashville Lighting & Production hung a canopy of string lights, and softly glowing candles framed the couple as they said their vows.
After they were pronounced husband and wife, our team quickly flipped the main space for a dinner buffet of herb chicken, marinated flank steak, grilled squash and zucchini, rosemary roasted new potatoes, and herbed basmati rice.
Julia and Ivan later shared a first dance to “This Too Shall Pass” by Anderson East before enjoying a toast by Julia’s maid of honor and brother.
To end the night, family and friends joined together to sing “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond before sending the newlyweds off through a flower petal exit.
