In March of 2020, locals Megan and Justin said “I do” at The Bridge Building with a personal and intimate navy blue wedding.
The pair were both working as human resource directors at competing Nashville hotels when they met at a Predators hockey watch party! They talked all night and, as they say, the rest is history.
Justin later came up with the perfect proposal plan: Since the Gaylord Opryland Hotel was their favorite place in Nashville for staycations, he booked a fun Thanksgiving weekend there and invited both of their families.
Justin got down on one knee in front of one of Opryland’s beautiful Christmas displays, and then the couple got to celebrate with everyone immediately after!
When it came to the big day, lockdowns hadn’t yet begun in Tennessee, but Megan and Justin’s priorities changed. “It went from being a time for us to relax and celebrate with our favorite people to a time for all our guests, as well as ourselves, to forget the craziness that was going on in the world around us and party the night away,” Megan said.
The Bridge Building offered the stress-free planning process they had always dreamed of, so they focused on finding small ways to put their unique touch on the decor, like opting for hand-crafted paper bouquets instead of florals.
Megan and Justin shared a sweet first look on the pedestrian bridge, and then they held a short ceremony on the rooftop with the Nashville skyline as their scenic backdrop.
Guests then headed out to a cocktail hour where they enjoyed tomato bruschetta, brisket tacos, and avocado toast while sipping on glasses of pinot grigio. Then it was time for a seated dinner, followed by some heartfelt toasts before the party started with dancing and cake.
These Nashville locals care about their community, so they chose candles from one of their favorite charities, Thistle Farms, as a lovely party favor for their guests.
Before the newlyweds were sent off to their getaway car by a line of friends and family waving colorful glow sticks, they shared one last dance alone to soak it all in.
