Emily and Will celebrated their nuptials with a class fall wedding ceremony at Christ The King Catholic Church followed by a fun reception at The Bridge Building in downtown Nashville.
These two first met on the Emory & Henry College campus in southwest Virginia. They both played soccer for the college and met during the preseason their freshman year. A friendship quickly began, but after a few late-night talks and breakfast dates, they grew much closer. Three years later, Will got down on one knee and asked Emily to be his forever on the beloved Nashville Pedestrian Bridge.
Since Nashville was near and dear to their hearts, they knew it was the perfect place to continue this next chapter of their lives.
Their wedding day began with a beautiful and traditional ceremony at Christ The King Catholic Church, before heading downtown for the reception.
Emily had her gals dressed in deep burgundy gowns with bouquets full of ivory florals and sprigs of greenery. In addition, the groomsmen wore classic black suits, while Will went with a patterned gray coat and a velvet bowtie.
When guests arrived at The Bridge Building, white and black linens, gold chargers, and little ivory pumpkins dressed up the main space in subtle fall style. Passed hors d'oeuvres of candied bacon, fried green tomatoes, margarita flatbread, and tomato bruschetta greeted them upon arrival.
Shortly after, guests took their seats to a plated dinner with the choice of sirloin steak or rosemary chicken. Entrees were dressed with delicious sides like truffle cheddar crusted brussel sprouts, garlic mashed potatoes and southern style green beans.
"All of Me" by John Legend was Emily and Will's pick for their first dance. "When the song first came out Will told me that the song reminded him of us," Emily told us. "That memory stuck with us years later." Swoon!
Amid the excitement and rush of the evening, the couple stepped outside just in time to catch the sunset. "The sun was setting behind the city, and it was the most beautiful sunset," Emily said. "So many of our guests were sitting outside enjoying conversation and it was a beautiful, calm moment."
After a night of dancing and laughs, guests sent Emily and Will off to their 1950's Rolls Royce with bubbles.
